Takoda Dogs Guardian Program
In order to assure all our dogs have wonderful lives as family pets we have instituted a guardianship program. The best female of a litter is selected and adopted by a guardian. At eight weeks of age she will go to live with her guardian/co-owners. She will live with the guardian all her life except two times when she comes to us to deliver her puppies and nurse them. This will occur when she is two years old and only if she passes her health clearances. She will come to us a week before the puppies are due in case she has them early and will live with us about six weeks and then return to the guardian. The guardian is free to visit her and enjoy the puppies. During her breeding life, which will end when she is about three years old, technical ownership will remain with Takoda Dogs but she will reside with her guardian. After she is spayed ownership will be transferred fully to her guardian.
This program allows us to breed the best Bichons and English Cream Goldens possible and be sure each dog has a loving family and a joyful life. Cost of guardian dogs is very reasonable and with financial bonuses after each litter, ultimately the dog is without charge. Please read the Guardian contract for more information.
