Lily was born on April Fool's Day, but a fool she is not. She is a beautiful, healthy family dog. She lives with two boys (6 year old Carter and 22 month old Grayson), so Lily has proven herself to be gentle, playful and a cherished member of our family. She loves stuffed animals and claimed a little white crocheted blanket as her own. She cuddles with it daily. A favorite moment when wen Grayson was a small infant, she brought her blanket and rested on him as he laid crying in his swing. Lily is a natural nurturer.
As a puppy, Lily showed her intelligence. You had to keep a diligent eye on her, or she would sneak food from anywhere. She had a knack for reaching into the kitchen sink.
Lily lives with a cat, Maya, and Chasse, a twelve year old Katrina rescue. She loves her four-legged family. Her eagerness to cuddle with Maya keeps Maya a safe distance away. Never aggressive, Lily respects this space but can barely contain her excitement. She also gets excited when birds and squirrels show considerable nerve by coming into our backyard. They don't seem interested in making friends with Lily either.
Lily makes teaching our toddler how to be gentle easy, as she is so gentle. Book recommendation for toddlers- "How Do Dinosaurs Love Their Dogs?"
Lily is a great addition to our breeding program. We are confident she will be an attentive mother. Her puppies will be raised around children, but all potential families should remember that puppies need nurturing, constant monitoring and training (as do small children).
Lily's favorite things:
Her white blankie
Exploring the yard
Getting big hugs and kisses
When Carter and Grayson pet from "head to tail" (see book reference above)
The rare Maya (cat) sighting.
